The 15 Best Novi Sad Day Trips from Belgrade

35 tours  ·  ★★★★★★★★★★ 4.9 average  ·  from $41

An hour up the motorway buys a Habsburg town, a fortress with a famously wrong-way clock, and the monastery-and-cellar country of the Fruška Gora behind it. The 15 below cover them in different proportions, with prices and how much of the day is actually spent in the van.

“Highly recommended. Aleksandar was a great tour guide, welcoming and friendly. He was giving the right amount of information without overwhelming you, he suggested a great restaurant for Novi Sad. The mini bus was nice and comfortable, we were a group of 9 adults and 3 children. The itinerary was well planned and had an interesting mix of activities and things to see. It was a great day trip. Thank you!”

“We booked the trip, received confirmation, at the indicated time and place the tour operator never showed up (and it was difficult to miss the place - hotel Moskva). Since no contact to the tour operator was provided I managed to get in touch via WhatsApp with Viator travel. After a while I learned that I will be picked up soon (it was already 45 min after the time). Another 45 min took the exchange of correspondence with Viator with no effect. Despite requests I was never given a direct contact to the tour operator (I received one but they never answered). After 1,5hs I've given up. It is a…”

“I highly recommend this service!! My husband and I flew from the U.S. into Nikola Tesla airport with our 2 cats. We had arranged for the driver a couple of weeks in advance for the private driver to pick us up with our 7 bags and to drive us to our air bnb. Scheduling a driver was super easy and the communication was top notch! Our driver was waiting with a sign with our names so it was super easy to find him. As soon as we landed he also reached out and texted and let me know where he was waiting. He was extremely nice and even helped us…”

“This was a great out of Belgrade experience. Our guide Milan was friendly and knowledgeable. Milan is a REAL biker and he was prepared to take us on something more challenging but when he saw we were more in a sightseeing mode he adjusted our itinerary and made the ride really pleasurable. I am living in Belgrade for the next 7 months and will definitely do this trip again with visiting family. As for logistics - he arrived a few minutes early to my apartment, the bikes were fine, and he provided little rucksacks that came with some fruit and water. A wonderful experience.”

“Tour itself was great and our guide, Stefan, made this tour memorable! He adapted all activities to our interests, and he gave us plenty information about each areas, including historical facts, architectural details and so on. Without Stefan we would miss the only plenty unique areas, wonderful drinks and very tasty traditional Serbian food as well. What a nice guide! Absolutely brilliant day!”

“Spent the day visiting Novi Sad with Milos as the guide and the driver. He did an excellent job on both duties. We learned a tremendous amount of facts on the country and its history during the drive up which made the time fly by. Then when we arrived we were treated to facts about the city and region. Completely recommend this tour and Milos both were worth it.”

“I really enjoyed the tour as it was what I was expecting, based on duration. I had the guide to myself so it turned out to be a private tour. We visited all the main spots of Novi Sad. We did walk a lot, which it was ideal for me but bear that in mind. There were lots of interesting information provided during the tour. We even got to go see the tunnel under the fortress. Novi Sad is a beautiful town and this tour would be a good way to see it. The fast train from Belgrade was also very convenient. Recommended as a day trip.”

He has so much historical information to share and personally was very interesting to talk to. He adapted the tour to our interests. The town of Sremski Karlovci, fruska gora area, and monasteries are a must see in this area of Serbia and not well connected by public transport. Highly recommended!”
